I usually say that I believe that it's the choices we make that form us as persons and form our lives. There are in general no wrong choices to make, just different ones with different consequences that will give our lives different directions. A lot of choices are made daily and are so much routine or party of our daily lives that we hardly consider them choices. Most of us get up, go to work, do our work, go home and so on. Maybe it's seems very obvious that it's what we do. But what if one day didn't go to work? Or instead of going home after work, went to the airport and flew to Spain? Or if we just decided to take the bus instead of biking? Some choices have a greater impact on or lives than others of course but also the smaller ones can mean more than we would expect. Maybe the person you randomly start talking to just that day on just that bus will turn out to be the love of your life. So how do we know if we make the right choices? That our life wouldn't have been better if we did get on that bus that day? Or when it comes to even bigger things, choices that we are aware of are big and important and will for sure affect our future in different directions? How do we know which is the right one then? I'm thinking that we can't ever really know. The key is the old cliche 'follow your heart'. That's what I think anyway. We can't know what the future will hold, but we can feel in our hearts what feels right for us in that particular situation and time. And as long as this is what we base our choices on I think that the future will turn out good in the end.
