My favourite flower.

It is starting to blossom around me now. A few weeks earlier than how it was when, or where I grew up. During those years it was always the question if it is going to blossom for the graduation day. In my family's garden we had a row of high bushes, mixed with the white and the purple flowers, even though they seemed much higher and magnificent when I was a kid. The beauty of the small flowers and the wonderful smell makes the syringa my favourite flower. But there's not only the physical attributes of the flower that makes me love it, it's the promises it carries with it. The early, light flower brings the smell and the promises of the summer that's is just around the corner, the promises of life starting and all the possibilities that life carries. This is why I love seeing the syringa blow gently in the early summer breeze and draw the smell deep deep into my lungs.
