New favourite.

I have a new favourite bar in Copenhagen! Well, of course the Moose will always be closest to my heart, but this bar definitely has the potential of being the moose of 2009!

What's this place then?? Well, it is a very small bar with a very cosy feeling. The theme is surfing and the interior design shows this off in a awesome way. The music is a mix of 80s rock songs and newer hits, just good music as background for hanging out or for shaking it a bit. The bartender was excellent, fast and smiling all night. And the prices are the reason why we went there, the bar is also called the 10kr bar.

So I'm guessing that this is were you'll find me a lot the coming thursdays, fridays and/or saturdays :)

The other.

There's an other me. I don't like her and I wish she could go away forever but I don't know how to make her. She was in capoeira class today. The reasons for that are many and not really the point this time.

She had a horrible negative attitude. She came to work some aggression out of her body, but frustration over not being able to follow the moves kicked in and negativity in "i cant and i wount"-style was coming out of her ears. And except by feeling like a complete worthless looser when it comes to capoeire she felt like a burden to her fellow capoeristas, which is one of the worst feelings ever. In the end she was forced in the roda, and just felt frozen. Nothing in the game makes sense and the understanding og the use of the moves feels far far out of reach. So she, I, performed like the bad beginner I am.

What amazes me is the effort from people around me. I can't stand this person and still so many others do. At least put up with her since I still have friends. And the encouregment from the others at the capoeira means the world, even if I know that I'm bad. The spirit in the group is probably why I keep coming, it is warm and welcoming to everyone.

Bremen second time around.

The weekend meant back to Bremen for the celebration of the fabulous Finn's 25th birthday party. Again these days has made me realise how with some people can you can meet months apart and still feel like you were together yesterday. That it's actually one and a half year ago we all first met is amazing in so many ways. It does feel like yesterday in some ways and in others like we've known each other for ever.

So all of this ends up in lots and lots of fun when we're finally together. This weekend was no exception. A great thing about our parties are that there are always a day after together. Even if we all haven't always slept in the same place like this time, we all came back in the morning. And the day's after are the best ones ever. We all look like shit, feel like shit and gossip about all that went down the night before. It's like a second time around for the party and you get to hear everything that went down that you for some reason missed out on (because of being at another part of the party, sleeping or just being to drunk to remember). You can be sure to get the dish on all the things that everyone did, including your self. Always so much fun. And the third revival of the party is of course see all the pictures. So with attending to the party, hearing all the day after stories and seeing all the pictures you can be sure to get the full cover of all the craziness went down.

This weekend had it's memorable moments in: four people dancing the around the table dance, one person having four drinks at ones, one person saying that types does not matter at all this night, one person in general being totally drunk and creating loads of memorable moments (for the rest of us :P) and much much more of course. Only thing lacking was our lovely favourite dutch/austrian couple!

In the end.

The day I have been questioning if it would ever exist at all finally came. And passed. And here I am the day after, lying on the couch back home and trying to grasp the impact of yesterday.

In June 2007 I started the work with my thesis. It was a little bit earlier than usual, but since I was leaving for Copenhagen and had the have a professor assigned before that, and preferably also meet him or her, I had to start early. In January 2008, one year ago, I was supposed to hand it in and present it at a seminar. I didn't. Far from finished I left the fall semester of '07 behind me, with the thesis hanging over me like a rain heavy cloud hovering about wherever I was and whatever I did. It came to the point where I started to think that I would never be able to do this. I would never get it done.

With a full time job, capoeira, parties and friends the thesis didn't exactly proceed much at all. I have to say that the turning point came from the sweet Claire. She gave me some great advice and the kick in the behind that I needed and I finally started to work on it. The x-mas holidays was spent writing and the 14th of January 2009 I sent my thesis to my exminator. Yesterday morning I went to my uni for the seminar and right before lunch time my examinator gave me the passing grade.

My thesis is done, passed and handed in for good. I did it. And it feels so good.
